Photo was taken by my stepson David Brody at the Museum of American Art in Washington DC, on the Monday after Easter. We were excited about visiting the museum for the first time. I had learned that they had a collection of one of my favorite american impressionist, Henry Ossawa Tanner. Tanner did numerous pieces with religious themes, including this one titled Savior. When we got to the newly remodeled museum I learned that only one of the pieces was displayed on a wall in gallery with lighting. The rest of the collection including this piece were enclosed among the rows of glass archive cases on the 3rd floor, I sat down on the floor, to observe in person the painting I had admired on the internet and asked David to take the pic.
